The Impact of Our Work

28.2%

Federal Officials

Women's representation in the U.S. Congress has reached unprecedented levels:

  • U.S. House of Representatives: Out of 435 voting members, 127 are women, constituting approximately 29.2% of the chamber.

  • U.S. Senate: There are 24 female senators, representing 24% of the 100-seat Senate.

30%

Local Officials

Women hold approximately 30% of local government positions (e.g., mayors, city councils, commissioners). Higher female representation correlates with a greater focus on women’s issues, such as healthcare, domestic violence prevention, education, and reproductive rights.

Women’s issues typically make up 10-15% of local government resolutions, though this percentage fluctuates depending on the region, community needs, and political climate.

33.3%

State Officials

Women hold a record number of seats in state legislatures across the United States.

This marks an increase from previous years, continuing a trend of growing female representation in state governments. Notably, Nevada leads with women holding 61.9% of its legislative seats, maintaining its status as the first state to achieve a female majority in its legislature.

About Us

Empowering Women. Leading Change.

At SheLeads Initiative, we are dedicated to empowering women, advocating for families and youth, and driving progressive change. As a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, we equip women with the tools, training, and support they need to step into leadership roles, run for office, and amplify their voices in communities across the country.

We believe that when women lead, everyone thrives—families grow stronger, communities become more inclusive, and meaningful change becomes possible. Through our leadership development programs, candidate endorsements, and advocacy efforts, we are working to close the gender gap in leadership and build a future where women’s voices are heard, valued, and respected.
